Salt Lake County and Salt Lake City
Mission:
- Provide leadership in the planning and implementation of an efficient and technologically advanced network of solid waste facilities and programs to accommodate emerging community needs.
- Insure solid waste facilities and operations protect the environment and the health of Salt Lake County residents over the long term.
- Establish user fee price structures, hours of operation, and contractual relationships to retain the market share and economies of scale which enable services to be provided at a low cost.
- Implement measures to preserve and extend the life capacity of the landfill owned by public shareholders in order to avoid a waste disposal crisis in future years.
