Mission Statement
The goal of the Facilities is to provide environmental stewardship, financial integrity, safety, recycling education, and quality service to benefit the environment, residents, business, and employees of Salt Lake County for the long term.
The Facilities are involved in transportation and disposal of municipal solid waste, informational tours, a citizen convenience unloading facility, recycling of various commodities, recycling education, methane production for electricity, recycling of household hazardous waste, a green waste compost production operation, and land reclamation.
The Facilities operate on the financial principle of enterprise fund, and are supported by gate fees, rather than by tax funds.
